How I feel when you talk about sports

I have to admit, I don’t really understand the appeal of sports. I don’t see the appeal of watching other people running around trying to score points. And I certainly don’t see the appeal of talking about sports.

But I know that a lot of people do enjoy sports, and that’s fine. I’m not here to try to convince you to give up your love of sports. I’m just here to explain how I feel when you talk about them.

It’s not that I don’t appreciate your enthusiasm for sports. I can see that you’re really into it and that you get a lot of enjoyment out of it. It’s just that, for me, it’s a bit like listening to someone talk about a topic that I have no interest in whatsoever.

I’m sure you’ve had similar experiences yourself. Maybe there’s someone in your life who loves talking about their favorite TV show, but you just can’t muster up any interest in it whatsoever. Or maybe there’s someone who loves talking about politics, but you just tune out as soon as they start going on about it.

That’s how I feel when you talk about sports. I understand that you’re interested in it and that it brings you enjoyment, but for me, it’s just not something that I can get excited about.
