Before Washing
Before you wash your Under Armour sports mask, take a look at the care instructions label. You will want to remove any excess dirt or debris from your mask before putting it in the wash. You can do this by gently brushing the surface of your mask with a soft bristled brush.
Remove the filter
To ensure proper washing of your Under Armour® sports mask, we recommend removing the filter before placing it in the washing machine. The filter is located in a small pouch on the inside of the mask. Once you have removed the filter, you can proceed to wash your mask according to the instructions below.
Check the care label
Washing your sports mask regularly is important, but you should always check the care label before doing so. Depending on the materials used, your mask may need to be hand-washed or machine-washed on a delicate cycle. Additionally, some materials may require that you air dry your mask, while others can be tumble dried on low heat.
Once you’ve checked the care label, it’s time to actually wash your mask. If you’re hand-washing it, use a gentle detergent and lukewarm water. Gently rub the fabric together to clean it, then rinse thoroughly. If you’re machine-washing your mask, put it in a mesh laundry bag first to protect it from getting tangled up with other items in the wash. Use a gentle detergent and lukewarm water, and select the delicate cycle.
Washing
You should hand wash your mask with soap and cold water. Remove the filter before washing. Use a mild detergent and scrub the mask gently. Rinse thoroughly and let the mask air dry.
Fill the sink with cool water and mild detergent
We recommend that you wash your Under Armour sports mask after each use. Fill the sink with cool water and mild detergent, and then gently hand-wash your mask. Avoid using scouring pads or abrasive cleaners, as these can damage the fabric. Rinse your mask thoroughly, and then air-dry it.
Submerge the mask and gently agitate
To cleanse your mask, we recommend that you submerge it in cold water and gently agitate the fabric. Be sure to use a mild detergent; avoid bleach, fabric softeners, and dryer sheets. After the mask has finished soaking, rinse it thoroughly with cold water to remove all soap residue.
Rinse the mask thoroughly
To clean your mask, start by rinsing it thoroughly with cool water to remove any sweat or debris. If you’re using a soap-based cleanser, make sure to wet the mask first and then add a small amount of cleanser to the mesh side of the mask. Gently rub the cleanser into the mesh until it lathers, then rinse away completely with cool water. Avoid using hot water, as this can damage the mesh.
Hang the mask to dry
After each use, it’s important to wash your mask. To do so, remove the filter and discard it. Wash the mask itself with soap and water. You can either hand wash it or put it in the washing machine on a delicate cycle. Hang the mask to dry.
After Washing
Always air dry your mask. DO NOT put it in the dryer. Once your mask is dry, put it back on and make sure it feels comfortable. If it doesn’t feel comfortable, try adjusting the ear loops or nose wire.
Inspect the mask for any damage
Under Armour recommends that you inspect your sports mask before each use. If you notice any damage, do not use the mask and contact Under Armour customer service for a replacement.
Replace the filter
The Under Armour Sports Mask ships with two filters. We recommend replacing your filter after every 30 wears. To do so, simply remove the filter from the mask and insert a new one.
