Introduction
The 2020 Summer Olympics, officially known as the Games of the XXXII Olympiad, and commonly referred to as Tokyo 2020, is an upcoming international multi-sport event scheduled to be held from 24 July to 9 August 2020 in Tokyo, Japan. Originally due to take place in 1940, it was rescheduled for 1944 due to the outbreak of World War II; it was then cancelled in 1946. The International Olympic Committee (IOC) selected Tokyo as the host city during the 125th IOC Session in Buenos Aires on 7 September 2013.

There are a total of 33 sports on the program for the 2020 Summer Olympics. This is the first time that skateboarding, sport climbing, and surfing will be featured as Olympic sports.
