Wii Sports

Wii Sports is a 2006 sports video game developed and published by Nintendo for the Wii video game console. The game is included as a pack-in game with the Wii. Wii Sports consists of five separate sports games—tennis, baseball, bowling, golf, and boxing—which can be played individually or with up to four people.

Boxing

Boxing is one of the five sports available to play in Wii Sports. The objective of the game is to knockout your opponent by scoring more points than them through punches and jabs. In order to play, each player must hold one Wii Remote in each hand, which are then used to simulate punches. Different punches are executed by swinging the Wii Remote in different ways.

Bowling

wii sports come with ten fun-filled games, including bowling. You can use the Wii Remote and Nunchuk controllers to bowl just like you would at your local bowling alley. The Wii MotionPlus technology lets you add extra spin to your ball for even more accuracy. And, with Wii Party Mode, up to four players can bowl against each other in a friendly competition.

Golf

Wii Sports golf is played by swinging the Wii Remote like a golf club. The game supports up to four players. In Golf, the player’s Mii starts out at the teeing ground of the selected course. After each shot, the Mii will walk (or run if the player swings very hard) to where the ball landed. When it is time for the next shot, an overhead view zooms in on the Mii and ball. The overhead view also appears when the player is putting. The game uses a simplified stroke mechanic which has the player swing using one of three levels of backswing, then choose a level of forward swing.

Tennis

Tennis is one of the five sports playable in Wii Sports. It is also playable in Wii Sports Resort and as one of the returning sports in Wii Sports Club. In Tennis, the player swings the Wii Remote like a racket. The angle and speed of the swing determine where the ball goes. Players can choose to play with CPU Mii characters or with other humans through local wireless play by creating a room or joining one. If playing with others, either two, three, or four can join in for doubles.

There are four levels of difficulty: beginner, amateur, professional, and all-star. When playing at higher difficulties more proficient AI opponents will be faced. The player goes up against a different set of opponents for each difficulty until they play every Mii on their console at least once. Completing all rounds on a difficulty higher than amateur rewards the player with a black tennis racket doubles pair for their Mii character to use on any mode that allows equipment to be used such as online multiplayer or Tennis Doubles Tournament mode on Wii Sports Resort.
