The World Games are an international multi-sport event for athletes with intellectual disabilities, organized by the International Committee of Sports for the Intellectually Disabled (ICSD). The Games are held every four years, and the first edition was held in Athens, Greece in 1983.
As of 2019, 26 sports are on the official program. Some of these sports, like football 5-a-side and football 7-a-side, are played exclusively by athletes with intellectual disabilities; others, like Judo and Table Tennis, include both able-bodied and intellectually disabled athletes in competition. In addition to the 26 sports on the official program, a number of demonstration sports have been included at various editions of the Games.
