Early Life and Education

Rao Inderjit Singh was born on 27 December 1953 in a Jat family in Gohana village of Rohtak district, Haryana. He had his early education from Gohana and later did his Bachelors in Arts (BA) and Masters in Arts (MA) from the University of Delhi. In 1976, he joined the Indian Army as an officer in the Corps of Electronics and Mechanical Engineers (EME).

Jai Ram Thakur is the current Sports Minister of Haryana. He is a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party and has been a member of the Haryana Legislative Assembly since 2009. Prior to becoming Sports Minister, he served as the Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment from 2014 to 2016.
