The 2021 Sports Emmy Awards

The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS) announced the winners of the 42nd annual Sports Emmy Awards on Tuesday night, with ESPN winning the coveted Outstanding Live Sports Special for its production of “The Last Dance.”

The 10-part docuseries, which chronicles Michael Jordan and the 1997-98 Chicago Bulls, won a total of six Emmys, including Outstanding Edited Sport Special.

Other big winners included HBO Sports, which took home four Emmys for its documentary “ Being Serena,” and NBC Sports, which won three Emmys for its coverage of the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, South Korea.

This year’s ceremony was held virtually for the first time due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The Memorable Moments at the 2021 Sports Emmy Awards

The 54th annual Sports Emmy Awards took place on Tuesday evening, with a number of familiar faces taking home top honors.
